ALSA UM Symposium 2018 (AUS 2018)

Received a short notice over WhatsApp during Bitcoin Weekly Meetup KL. An invitation to speak to an audience of law students at UM. Special thanks to Aaron Ting of ACCESS Blockchain Association (Malaysia) for the reference, and Yeap Yee Lin (Head of Academic & Activities Bureau, ALSA UM) and Jonathan Chong (Academic & Activities Officer, ALSA UM) for successfully organizing this event.

It’s an honour to be able to share the insights from this book with the students and be able to share the same stage with CoinGecko‘s co-founder TM Lee, and lawyer Chew Phye Keat from Raja, Darryl & Loh.

After speakers shared their knowledge, there’s a Q&A session. It’s a tech Q & conventional A session indeed.

The audience actually typed out their questions and we the speakers answered using the mic, even though they just sit right in front of us and can ask using the mic. Weird but this is how it works.

Thanks for the souvenir prepared by the organizer.

ALSA UM Symposium 2018 (AUS 2018)

AUS is an annual event held by the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) of University of Malaya to expose both local and international law students to arising issues and development happening in the legal world. It also serves as a platform for law students from different countries to interact and network with each other.

The theme of AUS 2018 this year is –
“Dawn of Industry 4.0 – Tides of Change in the Legal Landscape”.

Through this event, we hope to increase the discussion among law students on the vast potential and opportunities as well as concerns on the impact of the fourth industrial revolution which is taking place right now throughout the whole world.

We will be discussing on #blockchain technology, cryptocurrency, smart contracts, the legal profession, internet regulation and data protection in the digital age in our event.
